About Finance Essentials
A free personal finance resource built for people who want to understand their money, without the complexity, cost, or conflicts of interest.
Make smart money decisions accessible to everyone
Most people never got a real financial education. School doesn't teach you how to budget, invest, pay off debt, or plan for retirement. And when you look for help online, you often find content buried in jargon or hard to act on.
Finance Essentials exists to fix that. I build free, practical, plain-English tools and guides to help everyday people take control of their finances, whether you're just starting out or optimizing decades of savings.
Every calculator and article here is built to teach you something you can act on, not to sell you a product. The free tools and guides are supported by clearly-labeled ads, and an optional premium plan removes them and adds more.
I'm a student, and school never taught me how money works. No budgeting, no investing, no compound interest, no debt. I had to figure it out myself through YouTube channels like Money Guy, Dave Ramsey, and Zac Rios. What struck me wasn't just how useful that knowledge was, but how many people clearly hadn't found it yet.
I built Finance Essentials because a tool like this didn't exist the way I wanted it to. Most financial sites are designed to sell you something. The calculators are locked behind sign-ups. The guides are written for people who already understand finance. I wanted something honest, free, and actually useful for someone starting from zero.
Everything here runs in your browser. Your numbers don't go anywhere. No account required to use any calculator or read any guide. That's a commitment, not a feature.
The site is still growing. New calculators, better guides, and tools I'm still building. If you find something that's wrong, confusing, or missing, I want to know. Get in touch.
What I stand for
Education first
Every article and calculator is built to teach, not to sell. I believe financial literacy is the foundation of financial freedom.
Free to use
The core tools and content are free, no account required. A premium plan is coming for those who want more, but the fundamentals stay free.
Plain English
Finance has enough jargon. I write and build for real people, not finance professionals. If it's confusing, I rewrite it.
Reader focused
My goal is to give you clear, practical financial education you can act on, regardless of where you're starting from.
Why you can trust this site
Trust has to be earned, especially with your money. Here's how I keep this guidance honest and in your corner.
Transparent about how I earn
The site is free, supported by clearly-labeled ads, with an optional premium plan that removes them. If I use affiliate links, I'll say so, and I'll never recommend something just because there's money in it.
Grounded in trusted sources
The content reflects widely accepted personal-finance principles and points you to official sources like the CFPB, SEC, and IRS so you can verify everything yourself.
Your data stays yours
Calculators and trackers run in your browser, your numbers aren't uploaded or sold. You can use almost everything without even creating an account.
Clear about what this is not
This is an education site, not a licensed advisor. I say so plainly and always recommend a qualified professional before major decisions, no false promises.
